All about Ibexa DXP v5: essential points, technical aspects and our assessment
We explain the main news of Ibexa, along with the assessments of our experts

Ibexa has released its new version, DXP v5, marking a significant step forward in how companies can create, personalize, and scale their digital experiences.
At Infinitum Digital, as Ibexa specialists, we’ve been following this launch closely. In this article, we summarize everything you need to know, from the key highlights to the more technical details for advanced users.
The highlights of Ibexa v5
AI-powered content creation
The new AI Catalyst feature is now natively integrated into the DXP, ready to use from day one. It enables teams to speed up content writing, generate product descriptions, create alt text for images, or tweak headlines in seconds — using whichever AI provider best suits their needs (OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, Meta, etc.).
Xavi Heras, Tech Lead at Infinitum Digital, summarizes our team’s thoughts:
“AI Catalyst is a game changer for marketing teams, allowing them to focus more on strategy and less on repetitive tasks.”
“The ability to choose different AI providers gives great flexibility depending on each client’s policies or requirements. We believe this will significantly accelerate publishing workflows.”

Smarter discounts for e-commerce
Ibexa’s integrated e-commerce module now supports flexible discount management — by catalog or cart, with or without promo codes. This highly requested feature opens new opportunities to run campaigns, clear stock, or reward customer loyalty.
As Radosław Zep noted: “Discounts are now a core part of Ibexa DXP v5 (…) with a step-by-step wizard that makes setup incredibly easy.”
Real-time personalization with Raptor CDP
Version 5 comes with Raptor CDP Activate as standard, allowing marketers to unify customer data, segment audiences easily, and activate multichannel campaigns. In practice, this means companies can move from scattered data to hyper-personalized campaigns in just a few clicks.
Our team highlights:
“Raptor CDP enables marketing teams to react in real time, without relying on developers to launch or adjust campaigns. What’s really interesting is how it combines with Ibexa’s AI features to automatically generate tailored content for each segment — saving both time and resources.
Altogether, this integration strengthens Ibexa’s position as a truly user-experience-driven platform.”
Seamless real-time collaboration
For the first time, Ibexa introduces real-time collaboration between editors. Multiple users can now work on the same content, see changes instantly, and easily share drafts — a long-awaited feature that aligns with modern team workflows.
As Radosław Zep, Director of Product Management at Ibexa, shared during the launch webinar: “Editors can collaborate on content pieces, invite colleagues, view changes in real time, and much more.”

A better editing experience
Ibexa v5 introduces several small but impactful improvements designed to make day-to-day work faster and smoother:
- New product selector: filter and browse by category, type, or price to quickly find the right item without navigating the entire repository.
- New image selector: more intuitive, with filters by type, size, or translation to speed up asset search.
- Revamped notifications: more compact and readable, with a dedicated view for filtering, saving, or marking items as pending.
- Copy and paste blocks between landing pages: not only duplicates the block but also transfers its configuration (audiences, linked content, etc.), saving valuable time in complex campaigns.
Individually, these updates may seem minor, but together they greatly enhance usability and reduce operational overhead, making the platform feel more fluid and responsive.
Technical perspective: under the hood
Beyond the visible improvements, Ibexa v5 also introduces a major architectural upgrade:
- Migration to Symfony 7 and baseline in PHP 8.3 for higher performance and security.
- Support for Solr 9, improving search capabilities.
- New remote APIs for segmentation and OpenAPI-based REST documentation.
- Integration of Rector to automate upgrades and simplify code maintenance.
- Updated PhpStorm plugin, featuring improved templates and autocompletion to speed up developers’ work.
Our team particularly values the Rector integration and PhpStorm enhancements:
“Integrating Rector is a fantastic move — it automates much of the upgrade process that used to be time-consuming and prone to manual errors.
The new PhpStorm plugin is also a substantial improvement, boosting productivity and reducing mistakes through automation and adherence to Ibexa’s best practices.”
