The UNIR platform and its 7 main challenges
UNIR was a protagonist at Madrid Tech Show 2022 with the presentation of the success case of its Ed Tech platform.

UNIR, protagonist at Madrid Tech Show
Mari Paz Sanz Díaz (manager of the Internet didactics department, content, and continuous improvement at UNIR) and Xavier Luque Sanz (expert in educational platforms and digital content at UNIR) were the protagonists of the presentation "Success case UNIR: the Spanish university at the forefront of digital transformation.", within the Customer Experience & Omnichannel section of Madrid Tech Show, an international benchmark event in Ecommerce and Marketing."

Accompanied by Javier Ahedo (Country & Partner Manager of Ibexa in Spain), Mari Paz Sanz and Xavi Luque from UNIR revealed live the 7 challenges of the Ed Tech platform of the PROEDUCA Group, developed by Infinitum Digital on the Ibexa DXP technology.
The UNIR platform and its 7 main challenges
There are 7 challenges that UNIR presented to Infinitum Digital when approaching the project:
- Content structuring
- Editorial supervision
- Multi LMS distribution
- Multichannel marketing
- Content as a reusable asset
- Content as a modifiable asset
- The content federation
As Mari Paz Sanz recounted during her presentation, the ambitious project of the UNIR Ed Tech platform was originally conceived at UNIR Spain and later expanded internationally to be used extensively by all the centers of the PROEDUCA Group.
A project with components of CMS (Content Management System) and LMS (Learning Management System) that had to meet the needs of multiple editors, a high volume of students, scalability, and flexibility, without sacrificing stability and security.
Challenge 1: Content structuring
Challenge: Convert all the content stored in over 4,000 unstructured documents into structured information that could be efficiently processed and managed.
Solution: For this purpose, a special labeling was established in the Word headings to recognize the structure and hierarchy of content objects.
Challenge 2: Editorial Supervision
Challenge: Facilitate the supervision and editorial validation of content.
Solution: Incorporate a preview from the content management panel (backend) in HTML and PDF, with the option to edit the content using Ibexa DXP editing options.
Challenge 3: Multi LMS Distribution
Challenge: Efficiently distribute educational content through different LMS solutions.
Solution: Develop a control panel in Ibexa DXP to integrate the different LMS solutions with the aim of facilitating agile and scalable content management to Sakai, Moodle, and Canvas.
Challenge 4: Multichannel
Challenge: Distribute the content in PDF, HTML, and XML formats in a unique and centralized way.
Solution: Leverage Ibexa DXP's Headless capabilities for the correct distribution of content in PDF, HTML, and XML, without giving up other formats in the future.

Challenge 5: The content of the platform as a reusable asset
Challenge: Structuring learning objects to facilitate their reuse in different contexts.
Solution: The solid content modeling of Ibexa DXP and its interchangeable hierarchical structure facilitate comprehensive management and synchronization across the different classrooms of each campus.
Challenge 6: Content as a modifiable asset
Challenge: Solving the huge difficulty of modifying educational content online.
Solution: Avoid encapsulating content from other systems and allow Ibexa DXP to link the content of different learning objects directly to the repository. This way, automatic propagation to all campuses and LMS used is facilitated.
Challenge 7: The content federation
Challenge: Federation of content and universal access for all group editors.
Solution: Using the Ibexa DXP repository as a global solution for content distribution, combined with the ability to provide specific multi-channel output for each center.

Challenge X: Next steps, looking towards the future
Expand the scope of the platform to other areas of the educational business that facilitate contract management, content creation and supervision, plagiarism management and review, the creation of a personalized dashboard by administrator role, a generator of custom modules, or the existence of a content creation assistant for the different available courses.
A research and development project that will be the result of close collaboration between the teams of UNIR, Ibexa, and Infinitum Digital with the aim of improving the user experience of students, editors, and the entire educational ecosystem that makes up the PROEDUCA Group.
Some results and a roadmap that all attendees of the talk had the opportunity to learn firsthand, thanks to Mari Paz Sanz and Xavier Luque Sanz from UNIR.
From here, our most sincere thanks to Ibexa for inviting us to participate in their booth as the first Gold Partner of Ibexa in Spain, and of course, to our colleagues from UNIR, represented especially by Mari Paz Sanz, for trusting our team for this project.
